Config sources.list for old releases

Edit /etc/apt/sources.list or create a new file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ with the following content:

deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ codename main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ codename-updates main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ codename-backports main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ codename-security main restricted universe multiverse

Replace codename with the one of your release.

Then run the following to install the package you want.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install package

Note: This is only for end-of-life releases. Currently supported releases are not moved to old-releases.ubuntu.com
